In order to find the house that will be your home, let’s set some priorities, including what you “must have” vs. what would be “nice to have.” Grab a pen and paper or your smartphone to answer a few helpful questions.

First, what is your time frame – specific target date – for moving? Keep in mind it may take 30 to 90 days to complete the entire home-buying process of finding the house, securing financing and closing.

Next, what kind of house do you envision? Be specific. Start with something like this: A house on a corner lot. A house in a cul de sac. A loft on the top floor. A garden condo. Then move to details such as lot size, number of bedrooms, baths, architectural style, etc. Be sure to include any special requirements and number your preferences in order of greatest to least importance. Click the HOME WISH LIST button to guide you in determining your “needs” vs. “nice to haves.”Your notes and this form, along with our initial consultation, will help me narrow the search for you within the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and obtain new listings, perhaps even not-yet-listed options, as I network with other agents.

Last, let me find your new home. I promise to keep you informed throughout the search as I schedule personal showings with you to see houses and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of each one. I will consistently check for new opportunities within MLS and within my network of agents. I will let you know of any changing financial conditions that affect your search, and I will always be available to answer your questions. Responsiveness from me to you and you to me is key.

While it is possible to find your dream house on the first day, it’s not the norm. With communication, diligence and patience, we will find your new home!
